Governor Ramalan Yero of Kaduna State on Sunday visited persons who sustained injuries while celebrating the victory of the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, in the recently held presidential election.

There was “wild” jubilation in most parts of the North as it became glaring that Mr. Buhari, who hails from Katsina State, had won the election by defeating incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan.
Mr. Yero had earlier directed that those injured during Buhari’s victory jubilation across the state should be treated in state hospitals for free. He also condoled with families of those that lost their lives while celebrating.
The governor visited the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital Zaria where 26 persons injured during the celebrations were on admission for various degrees of injuries.
Conducting the governor and his entourage round the wards, the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee of the hospital, Abdullahi Mohammed, said of the number admitted at the hospital, 12 persons have been discharged while the remaining 14 are still receiving treatment.
Yero informed management of the hospital that the State Government will pay all bills while calling on people in the State to continue to live peacefully with one another irrespective of their political and religious differences.
Mr. Yero is of the Peoples Democratic Party and will be looking to win this Saturday’s governorship election in which a former FCT Minister, Nasir el-Rufai, will be flying the All Progressives Congress flag.
