Police confirm Borno fish market attack, say only 12 people died

Borno State Police Commissioner, Aderemi Opadokun has confirmed the Monday’s attacks on Baga fish market in Maiduguri.
He, however, said only 12 persons were killed in the latest attack.
DAILY POST reports that two female suicide bombers had entered the market yesterday afternoon disguised as beggars and detonated explosives devices.                        
Confirming the incident to newsmen on Monday, Opadokun said survivors of the attacks were currently receiving treatment at various hospitals in the state.
“Yes, today (yesterday), Monday 22/06/2015 at about 1500 hours, there was a twin IED explosion in Maiduguri.

One occurred at the centre of Baga road fish market, while the other was at BIYOK still along Baga road, about 1 kilometre to the affected market. IEDs were conveyed by two female suicide bombers.
“12 people died including the bombers and many were seriously injured. The scene was visited and victims were conveyed to the hospital.
